Fear, self-doubt, and anxiety discourage the best of us. Searches for positive self-talk remain the most popular. Therefore, we should choose our words wisely. In addition, it’s important to note that words can completely reframe our day. Positive self-talk is helpful for anxiety relief. Feeling stuck or unseen is, unfortunately, very common. We may be replaying thoughts that began in childhood. As adults, we need to revisit these thoughts. Ask yourself, “Is this thought beneficial?” Or “is this thought uplifting?” Negative thoughts reinforce fear, not faith. Positive self-talk is powerful. The book of Proverbs 18: 21 tells us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Here we learn how powerful our words are. They can affect us and others. Today, we will learn the top four most searched reasons to speak positively. As a result, we will also compare and contrast its effects on us in business and in life.
Reduce Anxiety
Positive mindset coaching steers us away from negativity. For this reason, struggling with anxiety and fear is exhausting. Thoughts such as “I’m not good enough,” or “nothing ever works out” are draining. Self-defeating thoughts delay growth and success. It makes you not want to give up and never try. Promotions come and go because we’re never considered. It is imperative that we retrain our minds starting today! Start speaking truth, such as “God’s got this!” Or “I will figure it out!” Building emotional resilience starts with positive self-talk. More importantly, even our relationships can suffer over time because you have nothing to give. See our great article on “Five Common Relationship Searches” on our WeTeach Business Insights blog. Here you will see how negativity affects relationships.
Action Steps: Say out loud three things people often compliment you about.
Improved emotional Wellness
Chronic criticism leads to burnout and emotional fatigue. Therefore, it is terribly exhausting to stay in a negative thought loop. Positive thoughts create a space for hope and peace. In addition, we should take time to count our blessings. I often ask clients, “Wouldn’t you love to have a friend like you?” This question helps us think about our positive attributes. I feel that it is very important to know what you bring to the table. This world is quick to showcase our deficiencies. Never come into agreement with negativity. Just say out loud, “It’s going to be great!” This gives your brain a chance to clear the air. God wants us to challenge our thoughts. In the Bible, 2 Corinthians 10:5 New King James Version, “casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” When I work with clients, I use Christian mindset coaching to address self-doubt.

You Were Created for More
As a Business and Life Coach, I see people stuck in life. It is hard to battle insecurity on your own. This keeps us from starting businesses or pursuing relationships. Or perhaps you might let a leadership opportunity pass you by. In addition, being negative keeps us from loving deeply. Doubt and solitude tend to darken our days. I have seen many talented people lack hope. It is not arrogant to speak positively about yourself. Ultimately, you will be in agreement with what God designed you to be. It is important to identify self-limiting beliefs; when we do, we can replace them with empowering truths. This helps us gain confidence and improve communication. We can build healthier and deeper relationships. As a result, our businesses will become successful. We will move forward with hopeful motivation. Thomas Edison once said, “Our greatest weakness is in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is to always try just one more time.” Faith and growth start with empowering truths. The first place we should look for this is in the Bible.
Action Steps: Start a cheer squad of two or more uplifting people. Also, use the Bible, which teaches us how to overcome negative thoughts with faith.
Stronger Relationships
Relationships become stronger when you feel peaceful. The doors of communication stay open. You become an emotionally balanced and compassionate partner. You will read the room and respond, not react, to conflict. You will be present and not checked out. You won’t be burdened by overwhelm and fear. Healthier conflict resolution will become easier. However, with positive self-talk, you will enjoy greater life satisfaction. Always be at the ready to reframe negative thoughts. The book of Psalm 31:24 NKJV explains the benefits of having courage: “Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord.” Courage starts with believing in yourself. Use these Biblical affirmations for emotional wellness. This becomes easier if you surround yourself with uplifting people. I highly recommend that everyone have a cheer squad. A cheer squad is a group of people who remind you of what you bring to the table. They truly are happy when you do well in life. And they gladly go to any place that will celebrate you.
Action steps: Boldly ask close friends or family what they like about you.
Final Thoughts
The way you speak about yourself matters immensely. Your body and soul are listening to every word you say about yourself. Negative self-talk leads to anxiety and exhaustion. This sorely affects your business and life. You must cancel negative thoughts, or they will affect you as a team player. This can lead to lost opportunities and failed relationships. No one wants to sit and listen to you beat yourself up. This is especially true of your children. Remember, you are their hero regardless of how you feel. What they see modeled, they may repeat in their adult life. Just because life is not perfect does not mean you shouldn’t stop trying. Always choose to speak life over yourself. Speak life over every situation. Get into the habit of saying “it’s going to be great!” The truth is, we don’t know what the future will bring. But we can absolutely speak boldly into the future. Never come to an agreement with failure. Only the winning teams get the biggest post-game interviews. No one is standing in line waiting to find out how the losing team lost. Choose to walk confidently into the life God has blessed you with.
